SHIFT: Beauty Shot

UPDATED: The staff has been changed, lighting slightly tweaked.

This is just a beauty shot done for SHIFT. I am going to change the Mage's staff and perhaps the color of the light. And oh yah, the expressions. And that should be it for this image.

Let me know any comments you might have. :)

Shift Town: Textures in Progress

Some texturing work in progress. Let me know if you like what you see. I am just afraid that I could be going in totally the wrong direction.

Will be working to make the colors of the other houses different from the main house in the foreground.

SHIFT: The town they live in.....

This is something I was working on for the past 2 days. A semi-fun project based on Paul's early concept art. I thought the design is really nice and it would be such a waste to just leave it. So I went ahead and modeled them out.

Well, seriously, I still don't know what this is going to be, but I am sure it will be put into good use, perhaps one of the maps, or some other purposes.

The modeling is actually the easy part, the UVW unwrapping and texturing will be the nightmare. So let's just say that it will take a while to be completed.....

International Friendship Day 2009

The project has 2 components, 1 of which is an interactive educational section and the other is a game show type Flash Game.

We finished this project about a month ago or so. Ken was both the creative and the art lead for this project. Sonia and Sze Thing were in charged of bulk of the graphics. There were tonnes of illustrations done for this project, from the designs of the 10 mascots, the landmarks and places of interest for the 10 countries to the game graphics; all were painstakingly done in vector format.

This website is created for all the primary, secondary schools and the junior colleges in Singapore. Many people have seen the site, and you can see it too at HERE.

Stereoscopic/ Anaglyph/ 4D Image

I received a call a few months ago asking about 4D movies. The person didn't elaborate and I wasn't sure as it could quite a few things.

I received another call from a friend who asked me if I know how to make them. This piqued my curiosity and I went to find out how to do them, and here it is. If you managed to get hold of a red and a blue transparency, you will be able to see the effect. Otherwise, this is meaningless.

If time permits, I may re-render this clip in stereoscopic and post again. I myself is quite curious to see it animated in stereoscopic mode.

Mantis - W.I.P.

I created the model close to a year ago, I think, with the intention of making a short and simple clip. The model was never completed to my satisfaction, and much less the rendering. So I left it at its incomplete state.

But I have finally decided to just finish it. I did not improve on the modeling nor the rendering. I did try to tweak the lights and all, but it was still unsatisfactory. So I used back the same old file and continued to do this short clip, using After Effects to touch up the look and feel of it.

It's about 1/2 done now, I think. And I hope to finish this up in soon.

Mage

Edited the color of the iris to be brownish. I do think it looks better.

This is the 2nd character of the 4.

Admittedly, I don't like this character as much as the Shifter. But I cannot pinpoint what is it that I don't like as much..... But, overall, I still like it!! HAHA

Shifter

This is the 3D model of the Shifter in its full glory. Now fully rigged, skinned, textured with morphers. Done by Paul :)

SHIFT

This is what and why me and Paul has been staying until 9+ almost every night for the past 2 weeks.

The 4 humans were modeled, rigged and skinned by Paul, the 2D paint over for the landscapes were done by him too. I modeled the 4 creatures, model the environment, did all the animations and UI designs. Of course, all these artwork would have been meaningless if not for our programmer, Chris.

A lot of work went in compared to about 9 days ago when we had to show the old build to some people. But of course, the work is far from over. We'll still be improving the graphics and programming.

All 4 Characters

As mentioned in the earlier post, the other 2 models are done. I did a quick posed for them and rendered them all in 1 group shot.

Characters

These are the 2 characters Paul had design, modeled, rigged and skinned. Not textured yet.... 2 more to go, but they should be ready soon.

National Myopia Prevention Programme

This is one of our recent projects. A 3-levelled Flash game, wallpapers, screensavers and widgets all done for the Health Promotion Board as part of the National Myopia Prevention Programme. It's a little ironic that we are using computer games to educate myopia prevention though....

Anyway, designs, illustations and animations are done by Sonia. I like what she has done, I hope you too will find it nice. :)
